General Function

The Instructor NT is a non-tenure track position with responsibilities to teach full-time and to provide appropriate service. The Instructor NT may participate in research or creative activities.

Description of Primary Duties

Successful candidate will teach four classes a semester from Digital Film and Television Production including cinematography, lighting and audio for film and TV, and other production classes as assigned; advise majors; and participate in service activities appropriate to a non-tenure-track faculty position.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications

An earned terminal degree or the degree required for teaching in certain disciplines is required. Potential or demonstrated teaching ability is required. A willingness to serve the academic unit, college, and the University is required. The ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds is required.

Additional Qualifications

Master’s in filmmaking and minimum three years’ professional production experience.
Must be able to teach cinematography, lighting and audio for film and TV; have multi cam and/or advanced production skills, be proficient in Adobe post-production suite; and have familiarity with HD and 4K production workflows. Demonstrated teaching experience and ability to describe how multicultural issues have been or will be brought into the curriculum.
