Description of Primary Duties

ARMSTRONG WOODS PRODUCTS.

DUTIES: Retrieves empty carton from carton rack. Examines flooring on moving belt for defects such as knots, stains, decay, splits, faulty edges, pitch pockets, wormholes, and defective milling. Positions lumber to indicate grade and further processing instructions. Determines cuts to be made to obtain highest marketable value from material. Removes unsatisfactory pieces from conveyor or table and places pieces on stacks, in bins, or on carts. Places boards i cartons according to manufacturer’s specifications, ensuring desired footage for each carton. Places inspection identification marking on full cartons and pushes carton onto conveyor belt for strapping. Other duties as assigned.
3rd Shift 10:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m. Training Wage: $10.20 per hour.

Required Qualifications

Requires high school diploma or general education degree (GED) or 1-3 months related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions and correspondence. Must be able to maintain score of 90% or better on grade rules test. Employee is required to stand and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally required to walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. Must regularly life and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Preference give to applicants with experience and/or consistent work history.
